I actually decided to have two songs of the week, since I couldn’t decide between sharing an old favorite with the world and actually posting something new for me too. So here is the old fave: “Put It Out For Good” by Amy Ray. This song goes under the category of please-God-let-me-make-it-through-the-rest-of-senior-year-without-killing-myself-(or-someone-else); I actually had quite a list of these, and probably without these songs, I would have run screaming off into the desert, completely insane, before I was halfway through second semester.
The second is “Runaway Train” by Soul Asylum, a new discovery that I actually found on WordPress too. It’s a little emo as well, maybe, but hey, we all need a little emo music from time to time. I’ll try to post something a little more meaty next week… but then again, no promises.

Well, okay, it really isn’t a “tale” but more of a word of advice: if you are going to use sticky notes in your office, use them sparingly. Preferably, don’t use them at all. At work yesterday, I had to help the other nurse in the office move everything down to the new office–and it was a post-it explosion. There is no possible way that she could find any of the information she had wrote on those stickies, because there were five million of them and they were everywhere. I am not an organization freak, I’m just not; I have a hard time finding things on occasion, and about halfway through the semester, my room is usually a total disaster resulting from homework overload and sleep deprivation; but there’s a point where even I can talk, and that’s just ridiculous.
Also, if any of you watch the Office–yay, I love me some Dwight Schrute!–then you might enjoy this blog about a similarly insane boss.

Just for the record, I cannot stand politics. If I see one more campaign commercial slashing the other candidate (and I’m sure I will), I will hop up and down screaming obscenities at the top of my lungs. Everything I see in the television, on blogs, in the newspapers, or hear on the radio just proves that they’re both crooks, McCain and Obama both. It’s just a matter of which is more of a crook, I think, and which is more likely to screw up our country. I’m considering voting for my dog, actually.
